Rio 2 - Watch Movie

Rio 2 is the sequel to the 2011 computer-animated movie Rio. The movie features the voices of Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway, Leslie Mann, Bruno Mars, Jemaine Clement, George Lopez, Jamie Foxx and will.i.am. The film continues the adventure of Blu (the male Spix's macaw from Moose Lake) who is now have three kids with Jewel and living in Rio de Janeiro with his owner. Most of the story is centered in the Amazon rain forest instead of Rio. Blu, Jewel and their three kids leave their domesticated life in the city of Rio de Janeiro for a journey to the Amazon rainforest, where their owners Linda and Tulio were doing an expedition that seemingly found a hidden tribe of Spix's Macaws. On their way there, they are witnessed in Manaus by Blu and Jewel's old nemesis Nigel the cockatoo, who then decides to seek revenge on the macaws, enlisting poison dart frog Gabi and anteater Charlie as his minions. Upon arriving the Amazon, the family comes across Jewel's long-lost father, Eduardo, who is in hiding with his macaw tribe. As Blu has trouble fitting in, Nigel infiltrates the tribe, and illegal loggers kidnap Linda and Tulio on their way to reach the macaws' hideout. The "Rio 2" was directed by Carlos Saldanha, director of the first Rio movie, Ice Age: The Meltdown, Robots, Gone Nutty and Ice Age.

Naught terrible about it, but 'Rio 2' is a boring - if colourful and well meant - follow-up to the 2011 original. The whole plot is basically just a typical family drama fest, filled to the brim with the clichés of relative and love quarrels. It's also entirely predictable, which doesn't help. A few of the characters from the first film are shoehorned in too, especially Nigel (Jemaine Clement). Jesse Eisenberg (Blu) and Anne Hathaway (Jewel) reprise their roles, Eisenberg is the better of the two. Bruno Mars joins the cast, I actually liked his voice for Roberto but unfortunately his character is forgettable. I'd guess the younger viewers will like this, as well as a number of others. For me, it's just very average.
