Older Gods - Watch Movie

After the disappearance of his troubled friend, American Chris Rivers leaves everything behind and travels to the Welsh countryside to investigate a dark apocalyptic cult. When he arrives, he finds that he’s bitten off far more than he can chew. Not only are the residents seemingly working together to obfuscate the details of what happened to his friend, they also seem to have given up on Chris entirely. Most sinister of all is that despite their wide grins, Chris is pretty certain his missing friend has been given up as a human sacrifice to an ancient evil. Older Gods is an Lovecraftian cosmic horror film that navigates the guilt of losing a loved one -- and what we are willing to do to make up for not being there to protect them. There is a great sense of dread throughout but the mystery keeps you interested right up until the end. Lots of big themes and an interesting concept. It did make me jump a few times but its not one of those horrors full of cheap jump scares, the constant edge of your seat creepiness keeps you pretty scared throughout haha! The performances we really great too. Obviously produced on a low budget but what its able to do with the budget is actually quite impressive. Recommended for horror fans who like cosmic horror / lovecraft type films.

While I craved more elaborate creatures and a broader array of characters, it's crucial to acknowledge that the movie's intent and budget constraints are not aligned with those expectations. The performances are commendable, The direction maintains a strong grip on the narrative, and the cinematography is visually pleasing, adding to the film's allure. The thematic exploration is genuinely thought-provoking. I encourage you to give it a chance; you might find yourself captivated.
