It is the first time a series will be developed specifically for the CBS subscription service, which already offers every episode of the original Star Trek TV series that aired on CBS from 1966-69.Alex Kurtzman, co-writer and producer of 2009s Star Trek and sequel Star Trek Into Darkness, will executive produce the series alongside Heather Kadin, with whom Kurtzman executive produces on CBS dramas Scorpion and Limitless.
